Clarity Issue – Correct VS2
Fred, I have your book “How to Buy a Diamond”. Great book. In there it says that when a diamond carries a black carbon spot, even a pinhead, it will be graded SI. However, I have a diamond that’s GIA graded VS2 even though it has a visible carbon spot only under maginification. The diamond is otherwise eye-clean. Why the difference? Was it correctly graded?

GIA has a disclaimer that allows them to be up to two grades offon their grades! :( Sorry but you don't have a VS2.
