Lucida and Lucere

hello I am currently looking for an engagement ring and we have decided very specifically on the style. my girlfriend has fallen in love with the tiffany lucida style ring. However it seems i will get a better quality diamond for similar cost if i go with a lucere diamond. the problem I have is where to source a lucere diamond in europe i currently live in malta. when i enquire i am often told to go with a princess or cushion style these are not the same or what i want and it can get frustrating when people are constantly trying to persuade you differently.
your advice and thoughts would be greatly appreciated

Hi Alex, As you might have already know, Lucere and Lucida are slightly different in facet arrangement. Typically, cushions and princess cuts are sold in a class 3 or 4 cut grade--making it very profitable for many jewelers to promote. If you going for an alternative to the Lucida, I'd consider the box radiant in a Class 1 or Class 2 cut before going to the princess or cushion. It's closer in look to the original inspiration. Have a great day!
