PawnShops

Can a pawn shop tell the difference from a diamond and a CZ? I know they have a machine to try and test what it is and indicated to us what it is. Could that machine they use be wrong? Could they set it up to make us think the real diamonds, at least that is what we think and why we bought it, are really not real and want us to sell to them?

Basically, can a machine tell the difference?

Hi King, The machine you are referring to is a thermal conductivity tester. It is possible that there may be operator error or you got a false reading. Also the thermal conductivity testers do not recognize moissanite. The majority of the time, the tests are accurate. The Diamond Guy Helper
