Salepeople tricks
I heard that the salespeople at 47 street look at the price tag of the diamond and tell you the price where the limit price is encoded in the tag. There are algorithms they are using that regular person cannot understand. Is it so? How can I read these tags?

There are lots of ways to disguise their costs. From using a cryptogram (alphabet code) or a simple year date code. I've never seen anybody use algorithms.
