Proposal Stories
Say Anything…
I met Chris my first day at my new job. I thought he was handsome and let myself wonder what it would be like to go out with him. I never in a million years imagined that he would be into me to.
Over the next few weeks we did some pretty intense flirting. Then, one of our coworkers invited us over to a poker party he was having. As the two newbies, we decided to meet up and go together. When we got there we had to draw for tables to play at. I drew the kitchen. I later learned that Chris had drawn the living room but begged someone to trade with him.
We played and flirted. Chris was the first one out. Come to find out he is usually the first one out. We took a couple of breaks throughout the night. The on one break Chris had found the courage to tell me he had a crush. I had just enough time to tell him that I had one too before we had to got back to the table. I stared going all in so I could go out of the game and get back to our conversation. I kept winning and eventually went out of the game in third place. Chris and I drove back to my car and sat for a few minutes We were both nervous but eventually summoned the courage to give me my last first kiss.
Two exciting months later I got my first “I Love You.” I almost said it a few times before but I held back. I had never said it before. Then, as the credits rolled on a movie, Chris blurted it out. He said he just couldn’t hold it in any longer. I told him that I loved him too and that I had been holding it in too. That night I practically floated home.
Some months later to the date Chris told me he was going out go a guy’s night. I told him to have a good time and to call when he got home. I watched a movie at home and went to bed. Shortly after midnight I heard Chris’ ringtone. It was “Not Enough Time” by INXS. (We liked to listen to the song because it was pretty much the way we felt about each other. There was just not enough time in the day for all the time we wanted to spend together.) I was confused because my phone was not ringing. In my sleep haze it sounded like the music was coming from my window. I ran to it and looked downstairs. I saw Chris standing there in the garden surrounded by torches. He was wearing an incredible suit and holding red roses. I ran down to him with tears in my eyes and he presented me with a glass slipper. He said that he could now stop looking. He then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. He has waited until just after midnight to make it the anniversary of the day he told me he had a crush.
