Selling an engagement ring

Hi,

I have a beautiful engagement ring that I need to sell and don’t want to get the shaft!

I bought the ring from a direct diamond manufacturer. I sent if back in September and they said they would try to sell it for me. They will take a commission for the sell. No bites yet and I was going to wait until Feb 14, 01 to see if they sell it. If not I will have them mail it back to me.

My question is, can’t I sell the stones and setting separately?

Ring description as described by the manufacturer’s appraisal: Ladies engagement ring features One(1) round cut Sapphire weighing 2.66 carats, sapphire is excellentin color and quality; The sapphire is mounted in a hand made platinum engagement ring mounting that features two(2) round brilliant cut diamonds with a total wieght of 1.21 carats. F in color and VS in clarity.

Total value $12,800.00

They obviously appraised it higher than what I paid.

What can I do? I would appreciate any help you can provide.

Sincerely,

Robert Ross

Hi Robert, To your 1st question. Yes as to your option , it really depends on whether the sapphire was heat treated. Can you answer that question. The Diamond Guy
